One of the two suspects in the Saturday morning robbery incident in Kilimani who were beaten up by a mob after snatching a woman’s mobile phone has succumbed to his injuries.
According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, the mugger died while receiving treatment after he had been beaten by angry residents over the recent spate of attacks in the area.
The police say that his accomplice, who was also injured, is still recuperating at a hospital in the area and will be detained at Kilimani Police Station after he recovers.
Detectives have also established that the two robbers on a motorbike, who have since been accused of multiple robberies in the Kilimani area, hail from Dandora.
The revelation came after several people came forward, alleging that they were also victims of robbery by the same suspects.
In the morning incident, the pair while on a motorcycle was intercepted by residents and boda boda riders after allegedly snatching a mobile phone from a young woman and attempting to flee near Astrol Petrol Station on Lenana Road
A boda boda rider threw a log in their path, causing them to fall then descended on them with blows and kicks before the police arrived and rescued them.
