Businessman cum Fraudster charged with Sh8M Fraud in car deal
Martin Munene Njenga was arrested on Thursday 12th after a complaint was filed at Kilimani Nairobi Directorate of Criminal Investigations over allegations of fraudulently obtaining Ksh. 8 million.
The accused was arraigned before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina where he pleaded to one count of obtaining money by false pretense contrary to section 313 of the penal code.
Munene Njenga pleaded not guilty and was released on a lenient cash bail of Ksh: 100,000 plus one contact person.
The State Prosecutor informed the court that on 15th March year 2023 at the Lavington area in Dagoreti sub-county within Nairobi County, the accused Munene jointly with others not before the court with intent to defraud obtained ksh. 8 million from Agnes Wairimu by falsely pretending that he was in a position to import her a motor vehicle make Range Rover a fact the accused knew was false.
