Rogue Dangerous insurance Director Stephenson Oduor in court over fraud allegations
An insurance Agency director accused of stealing money meant for mentally challenged people was on Wednesday charged before a Nairobi court.
Stephenson Oduor, the director of Signature Insurance Agency was accused that on February 18, 2023, at Fincorp Credit Limited in Nairobi, being the contracted agency of Jubilee Health Insurance company stole Sh307,225 belonging to the mentally handicapped people.
The said money had been entrusted to him by the Kenya Association for the intellectually handicapped to pay as premiums for the group medical scheme cover.
He was further charged with stealing Sh50,160 part of premiums for the intellectually handicapped meant for comprehensive insurance coverage.
Oduor appeared before Milimani Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and denied the charges.
He pleaded for lenient bond terms and was released on a bond of Sh500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh300,000.
The case will be mentioned on August 23 for pretrial
